How to Navigate Breakdown?

What do you do, when what you studied long and hard for, does not turn out the way you hoped for?
Do you pretend that all is well? Do you give up, and become numb unable to find the strength to move forward?
I have experienced what it is like to study so hard in pursuit of a passing score, just to receive news contrary to what was desired or hoped for. It is during these times, I wanted to roll up into a ball, wallow, and befriend an ally called pity.
In times past, I would muster up a smile and pretend I was not affected, but this time when I failed the test I set in the disappointment and released bottles of tears. I allowed angry, and disappointment to pass through me. I did not try to shield or hide my humanity from my kids.
During my moment of breakdown, God reminded me that all was not lost. God reminded me of two things, 1.) the score was high enough to keep me in the financial program, and 2.) I had another opportunity and chance to take the test again.
Sometimes, it is hard to fathom, but maybe God has another plan or path to get us where he wants us to be.
What if God has a greater plan for you, than you can imagine for your future?
What if what you perceive as a breakdown, is preparing you for your breakthrough?
Feel what you feel, but do not allow your emotions to rule over you.
Oftentimes, what we view as defeat or failure, is just our perception of the situation. God wants us to see his goodness in every situation. His goodness is present in every circumstance we face, and if we listen and sit quietly, he will give us a sense of hope, during the times that we need it the most. Look for the rainbow after the storm, and you will be reassured of his hope. God does not give us three wishes in a bottle, but he does give us the reassurance that we can trust his master plan inspite of the disappointments we may face in life.

Great friends, I am praying that in the seasons that you feel, everything you touch is turning to ash, that you will experience the spirit of God reassuring you that he is with you and that he has good plans for you. I am praying that you do not dwell or reside too long in a place of disappointment, breakdown, or failure, but you process your emotions in a healthy way and that God will reveal to you his goodness even in the not so pleasurable moments of life. May you know the depths of God’s love for you and recognize that the greater one that lives on the inside of you, and will get you through every moment of breakdown.
